What is a REALTOR®?
All real estate agents are not the same. Only real estate licensees who are members of the NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS® can properly be called REALTORS®. REALTORS® are committed to treat all parties to a transaction honestly. As a licensed REALTOR®, I subscribe to a strict code of ethics and am expected to maintain a higher level of knowledge of the process of buying and selling real estate.

More Reasons to Use a REALTOR®

REALTORS® lower your risk. When you have a REALTOR® as an advocate, you share some of the risk of home buying with your agent. Otherwise, it's buyer beware. As a REALTOR®, I can be your advocate and will make recommendations that will assure that you are buying a home that is safe, environmentally sound and priced fairly according to the current marketplace.

REALTORS® understand the current market and the complexities of the transaction. Real estate professionals have invaluable house-by-house, street-by-street, and market-by-market experience which can't be learned overnight. REALTORS® work with contracts daily, and can help you understand which points are harmful or beneficial to you. I can help you get the right house at the best price and terms.

REALTORS® have information you don't have. Our Multiple Listing Service (MLS) allows REALTORS® to communicate with each other about available inventory. We have information before it is available on the internet. In fact, many homes are bought and sold without a sign ever going in the yard. By making a commitment to work with a REALTOR® you have a much better chance of getting the house you want - or getting your house sold.

REALTORS® work for you...and the transaction. Buyers and sellers are natural adversaries. You want to buy for the least price, and the seller wants the most. REALTORS® must be skilled negotiators to keep pride, ignorance, or stubbornness from getting in the way of a fair deal for both sides.
